Leadership Longview Ends Year with Community Service Project

                The 27^th class of Leadership Longview concluded their year with a dedication of their community service project on April 23.  This year’s recipient was the Longview Interfaith Hospitality Network and the project was a brand new playground for the guest children of LIHN to enjoy.

                The class members solicited local individuals and area businesses to purchase and erect the playground equipment.  The playground serves as a distraction for the children and allows them the pleasure of being children.  Mayor Jay Dean read an official proclamation proclaiming April 23 Leadership Longview Project Day.  A special recognition was also given to Barbara and Don Kiser for their dedication to LIHN.

                The 23 members of this year’s class will be recognized at the Longview Partnership’s Business Expo/Leadership Longview’s Graduation on May 5, 2009 at Maude Cobb.
