LEADERSHIP TOMORROW CREATES MURAL TO BEAUTIFY CITY

The Leadership Tomorrow program selected the City of Longview as the recipient of this year’s community service project.  This year’s class, comprised of 16 high school students, representing our city’s public and private high schools, chose to create a mural on the Agriculture Building at the Longview Fairgrounds.

The mural depicts the local spirit of Longview.  The creative idea of classmate Ryan Gillam of Pine Tree High School, depicts the history of Longview.  The overall mural encompasses the piney woods of East Texas, the history of the oil boom, our city’s founding of the Great Texas Balloon Race, our native cowboy and a local landscape of businesses and organizations that contribute to make our city great.
