Many communities, regardless of size, have found that investing in their intercity rail stations is an excellent way to attract development, stimulate Amtrak ridership and improve the image of the community and intercity rail.
This year’s business advocacy luncheon will feature guest speaker Joy Smith. Expect to leave with a better understanding of the importance of rail and the economic value it brings to our community.
Known as Amtrak's most dedicated supporter, Joy Smith is the Assistant Superintendent of Amtrak's Southwest Division. She is responsible for passenger service from the Pacific Ocean to the Gulf of Mexico. As a 31 year Amtrak veteran, Ms. Smith remains completely dedicated to providing world-class service for all her passengers.
