Chamber Honors Elected Officials

Congressman Gohmert Presented with Award

 
Longview, TX (May 30, 2008): The Longview Partnership’s Governmental Affairs Committee held its 3rd Annual Elected Official's Reception, sponsored by Texas Bank and Trust and Eastman Chemical Company, on Thursday, May 29, 2008 at the Summit Club to celebrate the various initiatives that benefit the local business community. The Reception serves to represent businesses’ interests to government, which is one of the Partnership’s core values.
 
At the Reception, United States Chamber of Commerce presented Congressman Louie Gohmert with its prestigious Spirit of Enterprise Award for his support of pro-growth legislation during the first session of the 110th Congress. The U.S. Chamber presents the award annually, and eligibility is based on how members of Congress vote on key business issues.
 
The purpose of the appreciation reception was to honor our region's local, county and state elected officials. It was a great night of networking and connecting with elected officials and exchanging ideas.
