Longview Chamber of Commerce VP Elaine Reynolds will attend the 41st annual Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta October 6-14, 2012.  Reynolds is Vice President of Special Event Operations & Destination Services Manager for the Chamber of Commerce & Convention and Visitors Bureau. Reynolds will promote the Longview Community and our local Great Texas Balloon Event and U.S. National Championships through 2012.

 

Each year balloon teams from around the world participate in the event and news coverage originates from more than 50 countries. It has become the photographed event in the world.  Last year, there were an estimated 700,000 attendees and over 700 media representatives at the Balloon Fiesta.  The event has a loyal following.  According to the Balloon Fiesta 25% of those attending the weeklong event are from Texas.

 

TEAM TEXAS is an affiliation of Texas Cities through the Texas Association of Convention and Visitor Bureaus.  TEAM TEXAS attends national events with participating cities to promote the destination opportunities in Texas.  Texas destinations sending representatives to Albuquerque from their CVB or DMO to participate with TEAM TEXAS include:  Longview, Abilene, Amarillo, Bryan/College Station, Denton, El Paso, Frisco, Laredo, Lubbock, McAllen, Odessa, Plano, San Angelo, San Antonio, San Marcos, and Waco.
