Convergys Seeks 120 Employees in Longview, Texas
On-Site, Full-Time Positions Available for Service/Sales Representatives

(Cincinnati & Longview; July 23, 2012) – Convergys Corporation (NYSE: CVG), a global leader in customer management, is hiring for 120 full-time on-site positions for its contact center in Longview, Texas. Interested candidates are invited to attend on-site job fairs, scheduled for Wednesday, July 25, and Wednesday, August 2, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Candidates may also apply online any time at www.convergys.com/careers.

New employees will provide superior service and sales support to customers of a leading telecommunications company.

"We’re looking for highly motivated individuals who can work from our contact center, providing great customer service and promoting our client’s products and services,” said Ryan Currey, site leader for the Convergys contact center in Longview. "We are reaching out into our community to fill these openings, because these are not only terrific positions, they are great stepping stones to a career in operations, recruitment, or training. In fact, more than 70 percent of Convergys’ customer service managers began their careers as agents, and we are known for the internal development and promotion of our employees.”

As part of the Longview business community since 2008, Convergys encourages its employees to support the communities in which they live and work. Convergys offers on-site employees comprehensive training, competitive wages and performance incentives, and benefits including tuition reimbursement, medical, dental, and 401k. The starting wage is $10 per hour, and the company has introduced a new pay for performance program that can allow agents to earn up to $13 per hour. Convergys Longview was the recipient for Local Employer of Excellence Award 2011 by the local Texas Workforce Solutions organization.

Potential candidates should possess strong communication skills, be able to listen attentively to customer needs and concerns, and be comfortable offering new products and services. In addition, candidates should have strong computer/keyboarding skills, a high school diploma or GED, and be able to work 40 hours per week. Employment with Convergys also is contingent on the successful completion of a background check.
