Dear Business and Community Leaders,

I invite you to attend the 2010 State of the City Business Luncheon hosted by the Longview Partnership.  I hope you will join me as we celebrate the recent accomplishments and discuss the future needs of our hometown.

Like any community, Longview has certainly had its share of both achievements and challenges over the years.  Our city has experienced both the good fortune of oil booms and the disappointment of recessions.  It is clear to me that the can-do spirit of our people has been one of our greatest strengths.

Longview has been very fortunate compared with so many other cities across the nation, but to stay on track we must take time to examine what we have done and what we have yet to do. Through both ups and downs, I am proud to say that Longview has continued to move forward.

Sincerely,

Mayor Jay Dean
