Showcasing Career Opportunities Helps Students Become Career-Ready

Our community offers a vast array of job opportunities.  Longview Chamber of Commerce, as part of our Career Ready Plus Certified Campus initiative, highlights the importance of creating awareness about the many opportunities our employers offer and helps today’s students become better equipped to become tomorrow’s workforce.  Together with Longview Economic Development Corporation, we invite you to showcase your company’s career options to Longview ISD’s Ware East Texas Montessori Academy 5th graders.  The 2nd Annual Career Showcase will be held on Friday, April 26, 2019.

Opportunities to participate are limited.  There are twelve available spots within three time periods:  Round 1 from 8:10 – 10:05 a.m.; Round 2 from 10:10 a.m. – 12:05 p.m.; and Round 3 from 12:50 – 2:45 p.m.  For full Career Showcase details, including how to register for the event, visit http://bit.ly/2019CareerShowcase.  Only one employer from each industry will be allowed to participate to ensure we offer as many career options to these students as possible.

We hope you can join us in educating these students about the myriad career opportunities available to them right here in Longview, including entrepreneurship! Together, we can help students become career-ready by the time they graduate high school.  Together, we can work to ensure Longview continues to have a strong economy.

For more information about Ware’s Career Showcase, call Education and Workforce Manager, Misty Amaya, at 903.237.4041 or email her at mamaya@longviewtx.com.  You can also contact Misty for additional ways your organization can join the educational movement that the Longview Chamber of Commerce is championing.
